Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
6 small flour tortillas (6-inch)
6 slices American cheese
Shredded lettuce
Minced onion
Dill pickles
Burger sauce (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Meat: In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal portions and shape them into balls.
2️⃣ Preheat the Skillet: Heat a large skillet over high heat until it’s very hot.
3️⃣ Smash the Burgers: Place a meatball on the skillet and immediately press a tortilla on top, using a spatula or burger press to flatten the meat into a thin layer covering the tortilla.
4️⃣ Cook the Patties: Cook for 1-2 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the tortilla with the patty, place a slice of cheese on top, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crisp.
5️⃣ Add Toppings: Remove from the skillet and top with shredded lettuce, minced onion, dill pickles, and a drizzle of burger sauce.
6️⃣ Serve: Serve immediately while hot. Fold the tortillas in half if desired.
