Grilling season is in full swing, and what better way to enjoy the sunny outdoors than with some delectably spicy grilled shrimp? This recipe is a perfect blend of heat and zest, guaranteed to elevate your BBQ to the next level. Whether you’re hosting a backyard party or just want a quick and flavorful dinner, these spicy grilled shrimp are sure to impress. Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper

Directions:

  1. Prep Your Skewers: Start by soaking 8-10 wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill. Alternatively, you can use metal skewers if you have them on hand.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp: Place the shrimp in a gallon-size zip-lock bag. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, chili sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and ground red pepper. Reserve 1/4 cup of this marinade for basting the shrimp later. Pour the remaining marinade over the shrimp in the bag, seal it, and gently shake to ensure all the shrimp are coated. Refrigerate and let marinate for 20 minutes.
  3. Fire Up the Grill: Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat, aiming for a temperature range of 350° to 400°F.
  4. Skewer the Shrimp: Thread the marinated shrimp onto the pre-soaked skewers. Discard the marinade used for marinating the shrimp.
  5. Grilling Time: Place the skewered shrimp on the hot grill. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes on one side, then baste with the reserved marinade before flipping over. Continue to grill for another 2 to 3 minutes on the other side, basting again with the marinade. The shrimp should become pink and slightly charred.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the shrimp from the grill and serve hot. These spicy grilled shrimp are perfect on their own or with a side of fresh salad or over rice for a complete meal.
