Refreshing Strawberry Banana Soft Serve: A Guilt-Free Treat

Nothing beats the delight of homemade ice cream, especially when it’s as healthy as it is delicious. Today, I’m sharing a simple recipe for Strawberry Banana Soft Serve, perfect for those warm days when you crave something sweet yet nutritious.

Ingredients

  • Bananas: 3 medium (about 300 grams)
  • Strawberries: 5-6 medium (up to 100 grams)
  • Sweetener: 3 Tbsp, granulated or liquid (choose your favorite)

Directions

  1. Preparation: Begin by peeling the bananas. Slice them into 1-inch pieces for easy blending. Wash the strawberries and remove any leaves.
  2. Freezing: Place the banana slices and strawberries in a 1-gallon ziplock bag. Spread them out evenly to ensure they freeze thoroughly. Leave them in the freezer overnight or until they are frozen solid.
  3. Blending: Once your fruits are frozen, toss them into a food processor or high-powered blender. Add your choice of sweetener. Blend everything until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency. This is where the magic happens – transforming frozen fruit into velvety soft serve!
  4. Serving: Serve the soft serve immediately for the best texture. If you prefer a firmer consistency, pour the mixture into a lidded glass container. Cover and freeze it until it’s just right for you.
  5. Enjoying Later: For the perfect ice cream consistency, remove the container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. If you’re in a hurry, you can microwave it for 15 seconds to soften it up.
