2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and halved (900g)
1 cup granulated sugar, divided (200g)
9 tablespoons unsalted butter (120g)
2¼ cup all-purpose flour (270g)
2½ teaspoons baking powder
1¼ cup milk (300ml)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon kosher salt


Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, stir together the strawberries and ⅓ cup of the sugar. Set the mixture aside to macerate.
Add the butter to a 13×9-inch baking dish and place it in the preheated oven. Allow the butter to melt, which should take about 10 minutes.
While the butter melts, in a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, kosher salt, and the remaining ⅔ cup of sugar. Add the milk and vanilla extract, and stir until just combined.
Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Pour the batter over the melted butter, spreading it evenly.
Spoon the macerated strawberries over the batter, leaving any excess liquid in the bowl and discarding it.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and the strawberry juices are bubbling around the edges.
Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Optional: Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
