Texas Trash Pie

Description

Texas Trash Pie is a decadent, sweet-and-salty dessert that’s packed with flavor and texture. The combination of chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, graham crackers, caramel, pecans, and coconut creates an irresistible filling that sits beautifully inside a flaky pie crust. It’s baked until golden brown, resulting in a gooey, rich pie with crunchy bits that provide a delightful contrast.

Ingredients

Scale

1 frozen deep-dish pie crust (9 or 10-inch)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup pretzels, coarsely crushed
1 cup graham crackers, coarsely crushed
1 cup shredded coconut
¾ cup pecan pieces
1 cup Kraft caramel bits
½ cup (8 tbsp.) butter, melted
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position the oven rack on the second to lowest spot.
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Coarsely crush the pretzels and graham crackers into small pieces, but not too fine.
In the bowl with the melted butter, add the crushed pretzels, graham crackers, chocolate chips, shredded coconut, pecan pieces, caramel bits, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir everything together until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the frozen pie crust and spread it out evenly.
Bake the pie for 40-45 minutes, or until the pie is set and the top is golden brown. Around 25-30 minutes into baking, check the pie. If the top is browning too quickly, cover it with a piece of foil to prevent over-browning.
Once baked, let the pie cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
