Description

White Pizza with Garlic Parmesan Sauce offers a rich and creamy take on traditional pizza, replacing tomato sauce with a savory garlic sauce that complements the cheesy toppings. The blend of mozzarella and parmesan creates a wonderfully gooey texture, while the fresh basil adds a pop of color and freshness to each bite. It’s the perfect pizza for anyone who loves a garlic-forward flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Pizza Sauce:
2 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1¼ cup whole milk
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
3 cloves garlic, very finely chopped (or 3 tsp jarred minced garlic)
¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
Pizza:
1 pizza crust (homemade or store-bought)
8 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese, grated
½ cup garlic parmesan sauce
¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon olive oil
Garnish:
2 tablespoon fresh basil, chiffonade

Instructions

Garlic Pizza Sauce:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Whisk in the flour and continue whisking for about 2 minutes until smooth (do not brown).
Slowly whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture becomes thick and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.
Stir in the sea salt, black pepper, and finely chopped garlic.
Whisk in the parmesan cheese until just melted, then remove from heat.
Allow to cool before using, or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Pizza:
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
Roll out the pizza crust on a 12-14″ pizza pan.
Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Spread the garlic sauce evenly across the crust.
Top with grated mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil.
